Changing Lives Through Communication
District 8 members demonstrated the power of generosity and service at the November 22 Training Leadership Institute (TLI), where a dedicated Donations Table raised $783 in support of the Omer Roberts / Dory Drummond Inmate Scholarship Fund.
Thanks to the generosity of members who stopped by the table or sent in contributions, total donations have now reached $1,018 toward the District’s $2,000 goal—marking an important milestone in supporting Toastmasters programs within correctional facilities.
The Inmate Scholarship Fund helps cover Toastmasters membership dues for incarcerated individuals who otherwise would not be able to participate. These programs focus on building communication, confidence, accountability, and leadership—skills proven to dramatically reduce recidivism and help individuals prepare for successful reentry into their communities.

Contributions are still needed to reach the $2,000 goal and continue supporting inmate memberships across District 8.
