Candace Alba-Marshall joined Triton Toastmasters in March 2020 after attending an open house that changed the trajectory of her personal and professional growth. While she has always been outgoing with friends, the idea of speaking in front of a group—even to say her name—once felt overwhelming. Through Toastmasters, Candace moved beyond that fear and discovered her voice.
Since joining, Candace has served in multiple club officer roles, including Vice President of Public Relations, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Education, and Club President. Through these leadership roles, she has gained not only confidence but also meaningful connections and invaluable skills that extend far beyond club meetings.
Professionally, Candace has conducted training on microaggressions for the Association for Women Faculty and Staff at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, serves as Chair of the Diversity Committee at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health, and is an Instructor for Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid—opportunities she credits to the strong foundation built through Toastmasters.
Candace deeply values the leadership development, personal growth, and camaraderie she has found through Toastmasters. She is excited to support fellow members and looks forward to working with area clubs throughout the year.
