Derek Zboran is an author, podcaster, and speaker with a passion for creative productivity and personal growth. As a lifelong creator, he understands how easily creative priorities can be buried beneath the noise of daily life, and he has made it his mission to help others rediscover the spark of consistent, meaningful expression. Whether writing—he has four published books—podcasting, or delivering speeches, Derek shares practical strategies for maintaining a vibrant creative life in a distracted world.
Derek currently serves as Sergeant at Arms for the Ozark Orators Toastmasters Club and will serve as Club President for the 2025–2026 Toastmasters year. He brings a grounded, service-oriented presence to every role he holds. In his professional work at Missouri S&T, Derek contributes to the campus community through outreach initiatives that support mental wellness, leadership development, and communication excellence. His experience as a library assistant, event planner, and peer collaborator has strengthened his people skills and deepened his appreciation for community-building through shared purpose.
As Area 5 Director, Derek is committed to empowering club leaders with the tools, connections, and support they need to succeed. He believes that when clubs are equipped with the right strategies and resources, meaningful transformation can occur for members, officers, and the broader District 8 community. Outside of leadership and creative projects, Derek enjoys classic films, storytelling, drawing, music, and working on his next book.
